  2. 37, 38, 39 - very easy to make up from a small piece of metal - it's just a small flat bit with a hole in one end, with washer and 6mm(?) bolt. It's just to stop the flap bar moving up. Sizeis obvious when yoh have a look.

    Nick.

  3. Thanks Nick, where does it screw into?

  4. There is a hole in the fan housing by where the flap bar goes in to the left engine cover. Will take a photo of mine tomorrow if you like.

  10. Hi fella, that'll be great, many thanks, you have pm :)

  11. Think @ghiahead's photo shows it a lot better than the one I just took!

I had some issues with the right one in that my flap spring wouldn't stay under the little sticking out bit on the fan housing, so I bent a bit of metal the goes down round the end of the spring to stop it popping out.

  12. This is what it should like this I hope? With the spring under that piece of the fan housing, the flap spring open until the cable for the thermostat is attached??
    image.jpg

  13. Yep, that looks right :)

That is where my spring wouldn't stay in place. Looks like yours is fine.

  14. Had to twist the spring round once to give it abit of tension then it opened the flaps, I take it the thermostat closes the pulls the flaps shut, yeah?

  15. The flaps should be closed when the engine is cold. So, when attaching the cable from the thermostat you need to pull the flaps to the closed position and hold it there while you attach and tighten the cable.

When the engine warms up the thermostat expands, thus lengthing the cable and open the flaps.

  16. Cool cheers

  17. @ghiahead, just checking you got my pm?
