Could someone local help with a bit of welding please

Not on a VW for a change.

I'm turning my 3 bike rack into a 2 bike rack. Lighter and easier to use as we only ever have two bikes on it.

I'm looking for someone who can cut out these two sections and then weld the front and back together again.



I'm quite happy to pay for the work.

i'm guessing it's hollow? could you not cut and sleeve it and then rivet in place?

Yes hollow tube but I reckon a nicely cleaned up weld would be more elegant and corrosion resistant. It would be a good solution though thanks.

 

If you can get it to me via Tlb couriers I'll do it mate. I'm in spalding every week!

 

I'd cut it and if you can find a tube to fit snugly then sleeve it, re-weld, grind back and paint.
If you cant find a tube that fits, I'll turn up one on the lathe for you.
