Cooling flaps.

  1. I havnt got a thermostat fitted to my engine, that's one of the many next jobs to do.

Without a stat fitted how should it be, should the flap on the heat exchanger be open or resting on the heat exchanger which I thought should be in the closed position, which I could be wrong, as her indoors tells me I often am..

  2. what engine is this ?

  3. T4 2litre
Flaps need to be fully open to allow the air to flow. Mine have been removed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

 T4 need flaps (at least the N/S one) in place or you'll get very little oil cooling.
If you want to respond by saying that yours has been like this for years with no problem I won't bother to argue with you though - life's too short and it's your money...

  9. Zed I ain't going to argue. Want to get a stay to fit. But until then.....
