Hi all, before my first road trip I just checked over my cooker and sink in my Westy continental and neither seem to work ! I have attached a new Gaz bottle to the regulator turned the valve on but the cooker won't ignite, I can't smell any gas coming through either. I tried the regulator valve both ways just in case I was upside and back to front but it doesn't work. I also put 10 litres in the water tank but can't get any water from the tap, sounds dumb I know but do I have a manual pump or electric ? Cheers in advance....
The pump is manual use that lever, pump back n forth a few times Turn the little black knob anti clockwise, I think there's also a little gas tap on the Hob or in the gas line
The knob is the water filler cap, the throw on the water lever suggests it's a manual pump ? Maybe I should have a look behind the unit.... Ohh the cooker problem was user error - I didn't push the knobs in to light it, although one just goes out as soon as you let the the knob go...
The tap should have a length of pipe that pushes onto the spigot on the bottom to reach down into the tank to reach the water. This may be missing. It is easy to take the tap out by undoing the 2 screws, you can then test the tap in a bucket of water.
The cooker might have a flame failure device fitted. It may be necessary to hold the knob in for a few seconds before releasing it. The tap might need priming to make it work. Somehow try and squirt some water down it (tube or mouthful) and then try it. Might need a non return valve fitting to stop water draining back to the tank.
