Connectors/plugs type 2 1979 crew cab

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Avengers, Nov 13, 2015.

  1. Hi, sorry if I am a bit vague but I am very very new to this and trying to help my other half out to find a part. We are looking for the "female" end of the 2 plugs that are by the steering column (part of the wiring loom) does anyone have or happen to know where I might be able to get some. Thank you very much in advance

  2. Are these the connectors to the column switches? If so, I'd doubt you'll find them new. Why are yours missing?

I've just unplugged mine this afternoon, they're curved specially I doubt you'd get them other than from a breaker!

  4. It's a South African import and had been modified with different switches and engine we are slowly returning it to stock and the loom had been cut and the new switch wires crimped on to cheap radio shack switches mounted in the dash.

  5. Oh dear. Used is probably the best you're going to get. They're not standard, as the loom "comb" forms the male part of the whole thing.

Failing that, extend the wires down from the switches and use standard automotive multi-way connectors.
