Connection of cable to heat exchanger

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by volkswombat, Oct 14, 2013.

  1. My old heat exchangers were not connected up at all and were in crap condition, so I've got some eBay bargains to fit but am unsure exactly how the cables connect up to them so would appreciate any pics or advice on how to do it. I've seen some exploded views but they don't really help, I presume I need this kit.......

This is the lever area of the jobbies I'm going to fit

I think the long lever in the kit fits on the little spindle on the heat x (bottom right of pic)? Any help gratefully received.

It fits on with the tiniest circlip you ever saw (unless you're a watchmaker). Squeeze it on with your thumb. When you see the circlip you'll know what I mean. Drop it and it's lost forever.

  6. them little circlips are a right pain and yes lost one of mine (twice) the second time it went missing i couldn't be ars** looking for it so i drilled a hole in it and used a split pin and it works fine. my engine was in at the time with everything else in the way so a little job thats a big pain...
