  1. I was sure i registered for this forum; awhile back and my username and password is the same for a lotta forums, so i was seriously doubting my own sanity, as i bashed in the username and password -was it all a dream, or was I living in some sort of fantasy land where i dreamed I was a member? ...what was real and what was not??
    Diddyman was a mere figment of my immagination; no one could restore a big old t2 outside in his back garden with such an awesome rate of progress; must be all a pipe dream i was having...or was it... i couldnt be sure...
    ..a lengthy trawl through pages of old post revealed the site was in fact relaunched perhaps i did join...or was it all a dream again - confusion reigned??
    ...am i even typing this... ???

    Anyhow; My name is kevin; i live in Tipperary, Ireland and own/have owned my 77 Bus for nigh on 7 years; rusty aul thing, but its a tin top, original Irish Bus with a bit of history -owned originally by a seletian order in Dublin for the first 10years of its life- its on the old tax book, so no, a del-boy type didnt tell me a tall tale on selling me the Bus...
    anyhow some pics as the internet currencey - reading is what they did in the 1940 and 1950s isnt it, before telly was invented...

    pics taken about 4 years ago in the front avenue... about 3 years ago i bolted up some 'wheels n tyres' that hold air for longer than 8 hours, to move it...snapped off some wheel studs!!

    Feck it anyway!! the neighbours all rejoiced on seein it carted off; almost bursting into spontaneous song, such was the joy... their leader, the next door neighbour, who threatened me with court, having it taken away and scrapped, could not contain himself and enquired " its going off to the scrappers, is it, your Pikey wagon??'.... taking the higher ground on these things (as there is a better view), I never answered him and myself and the helpful Polish 'we never sleep' car transportation service crew chugged off to my sectret lock up 20 miles away, leaving the neighbours to enjoy their celebrations....
    Enconsed in its dry lock up, i did little with it since; done a lotta 'restorations' for other folk - eg this crispy MGB GT which is now all solid and painted up and being enjoyed by someone else
    ;

    ...and a few watercooled 'later VAGs'... in fact its been 18months since i did anything major with any of my own cars - last one being my 91 vw mk1 caddy i built from the ground up, so in a week or so when the remaining 'other blokes project is out the door of my small lockup; I will delve into the rust repair of my 'once forgotten' bus ,...
    To finish hers a gratuitous passenger side crispy, filler, rot pic for those that enjoy ooglin a bit O hardcore oxidization; the otherside is worse in that much of it is pretty non-existant!

  9. Hello Diddyman!!
    I dont have any pics of the 'GB finished; it was/is my uncles car -his firts resto, and last I heard he was hankering after a swop for a 'stacker-headlamp' 70s merc - deeper into the sea of rust, he trust himself, and I havent heard much from him since...
    ...naturally the sprayer 'mate' of his took the car on after i finished the metalwork, and 'took all the credit' and charged him handsomeley, accordinly....
    It wasnt too bad the 'mg' scale of rust, but it did need some small panels 'here and there' that I made up myself; didnt think much of the mg heritage stuff (repair panels)... but MGs are a lot handier to 'skin sgraft bits into' than Vws since the metal is thicker.... you can achieve outright boredom by clicking on this link wher I documented some of the 'GB metal replacement;
