  2. I'm looking forward to getting the engine out. Give me a chance to change the fuel filler pipe and tidy it all up.

Managed to borrow a bike jack as well

  5. It might be worth checking the accuracy of your dipstick. Top line is supposed to be 3 1/2 litres with a new filter but my oil only comes to the lower line with that amount (I waited a good while to let it settle) and it seems to go down faster if filled to the upper line. I read somewhere that 1000 miles/litre is OK, 500 miles is the limit before a strip down is needed. Mine's giving about 600 miles/litre.

  6. the dipstick tube is only pushed through the fan shroud. if someone has done this without measuring then your readings will be false and you could be over filling it. at the next change I'd empty it, measure your oil and refill. put a new mark on the dipstick to show true capacity. :)

Somewhere, perhaps there is a measurement for now far the dipstick tubes should protrude from the fan housing. I'm sure I put 3 to 3.5 l in mine yesterday but it's 1/2" over the top mark :(
