Has anyone got one for a 72 late bay European model please, as I can’t remember what goes where on the Dynamo and the coil please. Haynes is all ‘black and white’, which dosnt really help me.
    Thanks.

Tbh, I don’t understand the coil wiring as it’s all in black with no + or -, unless I’m just looking at it wrong…

  5. The thick(er) black cable goes to the coil +ve (worth checking there is 12V on it with ignition on). Other possibly black wires also go to the coil +ve if they're supplying the choke/solenoid and the reversing lights. The wire from the contact breakers goes to the coil -ve. It may or may not be green.

Fit an engine bay light.. some 12 volt IP67 LED strip strung around.. more use than glittering all over your awning.

I always hoped that all vehicle wiring diagrams were like the prototype bay ones, with everything laid out where they are in relation to the vehicle. The Late Bay and other vehicle ones that all go to a bar at the bottom of the page do my head in.

Completely agree. That's why I drew mine the old-fashioned way, although I've used modern fuses and more of them.

  16. The later ones are much easier to read ;)

Yeah I've come round to the newer style diagrams too. No more trying to awkwardly trace the wire you're interested in across a jumble of other wires.

  18. Everything split nicely into functional areas: in at the top, out at the bottom. Imagine the wiring diagram of a modern car done using the Janet and John Do Some Wiring method.

I'm surprised on the spaghetti diagrams they don't draw wheels and tyres on it.
