  1. Anyone ever used or know anything about those Gunson color tune kits ?

just wondered if there any good for setting the mixture on twin carbs ?

  2.
  3. Cor, I haven't used one of those in years. Can't remember much about it but do remember it worked on my twin SUs. I seem to remember peering into a tiny window to see the colour....

  4. i know its an old school bit of kit ! rolling rd is prob best option just wanted to see what was going on inside and check its atleast somewhere near .

    cheers peeps :)

  5. I wndered about using one on mine, but i didnt know if you could see it with the tin in the way esp 2 and 4 on a type 4?

  6. I bought one and used it today, as it turned out it was all good, burning blue white, and you can read it even with the tin on a type4, so not a bad investment to add to your toolkit ;)

  7. Had one for years and used it recently, I agree you cannot beat a rolling road and emission check but it does work on twins when used with an air flow meter.
I have a Type 2 bay and with the tube fitted you can easily see through the window.

  8. they seem a lot of money to me for a bit of plastic

when all you have to do is set the carb correctly

  10. ok the colour tune bit of plastic works but what you have to be careful of is not to allow the
the engine to run on to weak a mixture or it will the engine will overheat

an old vw engine has to run on a slightly rich mixture
