Coil issues?

    Should be better than aliexpress stuffs.
    I have had 2 distributor rebuild locally last months. One 043 905 205 and a 113 905 205. Only Bosch or Beru parts.
    I'm tired of parts failling out of the box or weeks after installation. I try the rebuild route, time will tello_O

    The Poitou unit still uses the points. So as the points cam follower wears, it will retard the timing and need the points gap adjusted despite their claims..

    An original Pertronix Ignitor has a similarly simple circuit but also has the Hall effect sensor for a magnetic trigger.. probably the best of both worlds (but it can cook the coil just like points and the Poitou box if the engine stops with the points closed.)

    Does the Poitou unit kick like a Poitou donkey, or is it just a geographical accident ?
     
  4. Made in France, if it acts like a Donkey, it should make the ride interesting.
    At least, you just need a carrot to keep it going :D
