I had a similar incident like this a few months back. Turned out that a po had replaced the original pedal hinge with a door hinge which had rusted through. If you still have the original mount on the floor pan for a new hinge they're pretty easy to fit; I had to hack mine a bit using the bit of door hinge that hadn't rusted through! Does the job.

Your clutch cable has snapped. It's easy to fit a new one. Replace the bowden tube as well.

  5. Is it easy to fit both parts as I live 2 doors away from a standard garage ,would they be able to do it if I ordered the parts?

Do it yourself, it really is easy.
Mine went on a motorway roundabout. Got it towed home, fitted a new one in the dark with a torch and set off again. It's one of the easiest jobs to do as long as you can get under your bus.

  8. I've just replaced mine Dave , did it on my drive way straight forward thankfully

Order a new cable clip for underneath the pedal as mine needed replacing as well

  9. Thanks all , have ordered the parts zed advised, hope the clip on the pedals Ok, it looks live its the clips on the end of the wore that's gone.

it's the outer cable with the s-bend and is often the cause of clutch cables breaking. Not in your case by the sounds of it, but a cheap part for what it is and well worth renewing. :)
