Cluncking, type 2

  1. Hiya all
Hes, a restoration waiting to happen. Iv just had "OLLIES " MOT done, he,s on the road (just). Wev got a horrible clunking coming from the front end, when you go faster, accelerate, the noise goes faster but quieter, when I take my foot off the gas the clunking gets loader, so hitting the gas quietens the noise??? It was more so going around corners, now it doesnt matter, if Im going straight or round bends. It gets realy realy loud when Im slowing down, about to stop, it sounds like the whole bottom is about to fall out. I would appreciate some help, many thanks in advance

  2. Okay stupid question coming up...are you sure its coming from the front end? Just that the symptoms you describe are a perfect match for a knackered CV joint on the rear

Yep, I was convinced my front left was about to come through the cab floor and that turned out to be CV joints.

  7. WELL, I thought Id read about it may be CV joint somewhere else ,,,,,,, maybe the cluncking does come from the back, its kinda hard to actually pinpoint it when your driving though, "Im not very good at this am I ? "

I didn't think CV joint until WoodyLubber steered me in the right direction. Really did sound like NS front, so much so that I got the wife to sit in the back to see if it made any difference.
