clamping flywheel

  1. Replacing gland nut tomorrow, making homemade clamp similar to this will this damage flywheel.

    Also can I use lithium grease on inside of gland nut (needle bearings) Plan to fit gland nut/washer, new rear seal, flywheel O ring, complete clutch. (picture for reference only)
     
  2. There's a proper locking tool for the flywheel and they're only a few quid .
    Order it tomorrow and it'll be here early next week , its not like you'd be in a rush - the usual suspects should stock it .

    You wont damage it like that , be fine

    locking tool is handy but the engine still moves about

    It should be fine and I used ratchet straps to stop it moving...

    I did my first like that. What a palava! Next time I lashed out on a torque meister.

    Torque meister turns it into a complete doddle. Still helps to clamp the flywheel but that only needs to hold the 23 ? Foot pounds of the input shaft of a Torque Meister, not the 253 of the gland nut..
