I've just bought a set of 4 brand new off the wilmas, don't know yet when i'll pick them up so i'm just generating interest here, i have 2 rears on mine that i recently fitted new rubbers to, which i'm looking to sell to offset the £300 i paid for the 4 and so i want as much as i can get for the 2 i have, the chrome itself is A1 but slight rust on the rear is showing, the rubbers are brand new top quality - if you're interested let me know and if you have any idea on what i should ask let me know that too....here's a video when i swapped the rubbers and when i showed how they bolt to the bumper. overrider2.MP4 Overrider rubbers.MP4
i bought my rears cheap because one was damaged . 5 minutes on the press sorted that out someone on here is looking , whoever posted in my 'what do you think' thread in general discussion
Cheers for that, i'll p.m him if he don't see this..... Meanwhile i've decided the price shall be £120 with the brand new rubbers and old ones as spares, or £100 if you want the older rubbers back on and i keep the new rubbers. (The 4 new overriders i bought ended up at £317 with postage so i've paid just under £80 per single overrider!) if i get the £120 i won't feel as bad as they then cost me £50 each. They are available whenever you like as i should get my new ones early next week. Collection from Midlands area or Blackpool Breeze, or Post will probably be about £10-15 as it was £17 for the 4 to be sent to me.
My 4 new overriders have arrived today so the 2 on my van are now officially for sale if anyone is interested let me know, also if you fancy a trade if cash is tight then let me know what you have..........Rick.
Hi Ricky Those new overriders are going to look really good on the van. I think your old ones are a good buy, but i'll sadly have to give them a miss. I've just blown the engine on my Vespa, so i've got to fix that first. Thanks to everyone for passing the info. O0
no worries, sorry about your engine news mate, i'm in no rush to sell it's not like they're gonna lose money!
Thanks Ricky. I would love a set of those and its not something that turns up all the time. you,ve scored there. Maybe Santa will get them for me. What if your OCD stops you from drilling your mint front bumper, then you can sell me a full set I use the Vespa for work so have to fix it. The piston has melted and the small end has broken up with all the parts going into the crank case. .
i drilled my bumper at the front for the number plate mount anyway i'll not fit the fronts now until it comes off the road i don't think as i presume you have to take the front bumper off?
Hi Ricky, I've just had a brain wave. How about a swap for my old fuel injection system. I'll check it out and itemise it all if your interested. I'm going out now but will check in tomorrow. Cheers.
It's a good system. Nice and simple by modern standards but it's 33 years old. If it does go wrong you'll have to diagnose it then try to get parts for it. They might as well sit in your garage than mine just in case. My van is a CEII also, so the parts will be the same. I had it running perfect. Starting hot or cold, 80mph ( on the speedo anyway ), 25mpg, then the alternator regulator packed up and pumped 20volts in to the system. After that i had a heavy flat spot and intermitent backfire. I checked a few things out and came to the conclution the ECU was damaged so i fitted a pair of carbs. This is what i have; ECU THROTTLE BODY COLD START VALVE INLET MANIFOLDS 4 INJECTORS AIR FLOW METER HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP TEMP. SENSOR IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ENGINE HARNESS METAL FUEL RAILS MAIN RELAY INJECTOR RESISTOR PACK DECEL VALVE. 8)
i'll think about it, i see what you're saying about the finding of replacements, knowing my luck it would sit in my shed forever too......how come you list the ECU but say it failed?
The van still ran with this ECU and it's 1970's style electronics so it might be possible to have it repaired. It's a big old lump with only a few connections , and it's all screwed together.
oh lol, i'm not sure yet - to be fair to vinny he is right, if i happen to have a failiure on injectors or air flow meter etc how long will it take me to source?and for what price? i bet the total of his parts are worth more that the overriders but it's just if i can take the risk that mine won't fail.....also if i'm honest the new overriders i bought are on my credit card and i ain't got the funds to pay it off but luckily theres a month until that....
