Chip in the paintwork

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Pieman, Jul 28, 2016.

  1. Somehow when closing the sliding door the door catch managed to wedge into the panel and take a chunk out of the body work.

Does anyone know of a good filler I can use to repair this damage?

The sliding door mech is faulty somewhere, that's what causes the door to catch like that, fix whatever's broken first or it will happen immediately after you fixed it, I would touch it in for the minute until the mech is fixed

  6. yes the swing out thing is siesed or has lost it's spring ,fix first....

  7. Mine was like that the mech hooks were worn so they allowed the door to prematurely swing in I replaced the hooks and the big Spring

  9. Hate this, just got a big chip in the face of mine. Tried to be patient, touch it in gradually day by day, cut back with T cut to flatten it............now I can still see the chip and now paint fade around the chip:mad:
I'm a bit OCD so thinking of painting the whole front, I know that's stupid cos I'll then just get another chip!
