checking oil

    Just changed the oil on the van for the first time (on my own) When i dip oil its just below the max line but if i leave the dipstick in a couple of mins its over the max line have i put too much oil in or is this normal? Forgot to say the van has been stood over night

    Remove dipstick, wipe off oil, put it back in.
    Remove and check level.

    Don't forget the van needs to be level

    And leave it 10-15 minutes after having run the engine.
