https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/155423407474 Super cheap for a pair I’m wondering if there worth a try or would it just be money down the drain
I think the premise is, if you search eBay hard enough, you find these on for different prices, and the lower the price the more likely they missed with the drill somewhere, or packed a gallery with dwarf. Auto correct is far funnier , I will leave it.. I think on the Samba.com, opinion is varied dependent on luck of the draw. Regard them as a kit of parts, may need fixing.. Might be safest to go with an old Solex to get you going ..
Depends on how much you will use your bus ...I have repro solex on mine ...new when i bought it 11 years ago and touch wood fine ...on low miles a year mind .
Like I can remember what Clem even looks like, let alone the sound of the engine (Tomorrow, Tomorrow.....)
I was driving through London the other day, and found Sadiq Khan wedged in one of my Dellortos. I've told him off before, but he keeps doing it
Collided with Dianne Abbott the other day . Came straight over the bonnet and through the windscreen. At first I thought an airbag had gone off, but then she accused me of being a racist, so I realised what had happened.
Sensible answer: might be a bargain, but you are taking a bit of a risk with Chinese quality. Worth a punt?
I nearly brought a pair 4 years ago if you have endless time and a machine shop I bet you could make them run really well I don't so I bought different. I don't doubt they could work but!!
Which is why I bought a 34pict3 Bocar for pennies on eBag - choke alone is 105quid if you need one for a Solex ... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Also unless you choke down the venturi to match your engine or scream it around with a balanced welded crank etc.. the 40s are a bit big for something that will be crawling it's way in low gear on big knobbly tyres if it only has a stockish engine..
