  1. Abstracting Electricity, contrary to the theft Act 1968. Maximum sentence 5 years. I'd have phoned the Rozzers, they could have taken the car as evidence of the offence.

I appreciate that. But trying to dump maybe 50kw of heat from a fast charger may be better dealt with by a secondary cooling system. Do you need to pay to cart around even more bloat in an EV ?

This shows that the chargers should be linked to a billing system. You will have to be able to do this to make EVs work in reality rather than as a minority specialist fantasy for the well off with driveways where they keep their EVs. The other people park on your drive, and you sell them electricity. When you come home, you command their car to go away and park itself.

I am counting down the days to when one of those full and frank exchanges involves a knife or the baseball bat in the boot.

  7. Do people with electric cars carry baseball bats? surely they’d have an ethically charged environmentally sound stun gun.

Probably get fresh quinoa smeared across the windscreen.

  10. Foolishly I hadn’t considered that the electric car driver might also be a hipster. Anything could concealed in that beard.
