changing wheel stud's.

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by GONA66, May 1, 2016.

  1. Morning all, need to fit longer wheel stud's to both axle's to accommodate the alloy's I'm going to fit.
I'm aware of the rear hub bolts that need removing (poss a job for the garage) but are the front's a job I can do ? Any info/ advice appreciated !

  2. I took mine out using a bench vise, just keep things square

  3. Is the front hub easy to remove ?

  4. Now sorted !! Did the front and rear myself over this weekend even managed the rear hub nuts! Removed the front studs and replaced with 60 mm. And replaced the shorter rear studs also with 60 mm to accommodate the new alloys I've fitted. 6. What tool did you use to remove them and did you have to take the backing plate off too? Cheers in advance.:)

  7. Sorry for late reply been busy ! Tool to remove what ? Are you doing similar !

  8. The wheel studs. :)

  9. Once I'd removed the hub containing the wheel studs, I simply tapped them out with a copper headed mallet supporting the hub on wood blocks !
