Feel free to gloat! That would save me faffing about making one, don't suppose you have the one that goes behind the pulley aswell?
Unfortunately not, I found one in a drawer of various bearings I had, I just measured it up and it matched so I bunged it in! I'm in the workshop n the morning and if your lucky it will be in the scrap pile, if so I will measure it up and check for part numbers.
The good news is I found the bearing, the bad news is I got sidetracked and forgot to measure it tuesday_wildchild I will though and get back to you.
No great rush. If I get bored with family affairs over Xmas, I might skulk off to the garage and strip my spare alt. The bearing is just pressed into the front case half, yes?
Right, next question before I start heaving (actually asked it on here a while ago): how do you get the rear plate off? The rear bearing seems to be trapped in a housing that's held on by two screws on the inside of the alternator. For the front, you just stuck a bearing puller behind the bearing, and it pulled the bearing and spacer off, yes?
Yes just pulled the front off and the same with the rear whilst in its housing i think, it was quite a while ago and i have drank quite a lot since then Just follow your nose, it came apart really easy and they aren't complicated. My back bearing was fine so i re-used it. The front bearing measures as follows: OD - 40mm ID - 17mm Overall thickness - 12mm Ball bearing with steel bearing cage housing. Hope this helps.
