Center sill removal? SD side

  1. Hi, this is what im looking at

    How do i remove the remains of this sill?, dont want to upset the door alinement.

    can you remove it and leave the top track in place?

    A good how to would really help if anyone know one

  2. Don't remove it completely, the replacement ones don't fit properly. I usually cut to just below the track and replace that section only although occasionally you have to completely replace the track as well. If the track needs work, just make sure you take lots of measurements before you cut what's left away.

    dont chop it up!!

    you can remove the centre bit carefully by drilling out the spot welds from above (through the floor)

    I removed mine, repaired, then welded it back on :)

    Don't remove it, cut back the rot to the edge you can see the weld in the inner sill, make up a plate to go between the cut back to bit( middle sill) and the new inner sill you have fitted :). I may have some pictures of one I have done
     
  5. Cheers for the advice guys i'll cut away the rest of the rot, give it a good clean and see where I stand
