WANTED CB Radio

Hi All,

I'm after a CB radio, I have no idea what I'm after just would like one for EBI as people I'm convoying with have them

Any help appreciated.

Its been many years since I used a cb but you do need to make sure you have the same type as the guys you want to communicate with. The legal one is FM band and the illegal one is the AM band. Not sure if AM is still being used but it used to be legal to sell but illegal to use.

It's funny cause most people I know have them!

 

I think there are a few on here but mine just seems to sit silent when going anywhere, stopped even bothering to plug it in now.

Even random shout out to VW fans near events yielded nothing!

I did hear a funny conversation on ch19 once about a cat and double glazing but......

 

I hope the silly lingo has died a death!

I suppose you have to be on the right frequency to find anyone, Or did you go through them all?

 

I've had my CB wired up for about a month now. I have only heard one person so far, and they were looking for someone particular and then disappeared. It would be great for it to be used as it was intended and actually have a conversation!

 

There ideal if in a convoy.

Whats the range on them?

 

Get some walkie talkies, lots of other uses as well, esp if you get lost at the bar at shows and the other half needs to find you

 

Finish my interior and I'll give you the $$$$$$$$ to buy one!!

breaker breaker lookin for something to eat mah tea off if you catch my drift mr chippy, 73s and 88s out.

 

We had cb radios about 20 years ago. The legal fm ones are 4w and have 40 channels. Range was about 3 or 4 miles I think and channel 19 was the general channel for meeting etc.
