Thanks all you dubbers. I've got oil bath on its way to me from Truro so I think on balance I'll fit it and get the Solex refurbed. I don't think my problem with the Bocar carb was icing up- I used to have that on an old Fiat 128. It appeared more like fuel starvation when pulling away, lack of air, lack of fuel - who knows. thanks again
I changed one Bocar for another, exactly the same problem. The problem lies in the heat risers not the carbs themselves.
