  1. Need to get a new carb want an original only ones I've seen on machine 7 a tad pricey but already spent a bloody fortune on the bus . Already sent 2 aftermarket ones back leaking out of the spindles just one thing what's the difference between a 34 pict 3 and a 34 pict 4 it's a bog standard 1600 lump cheers. Paul

  3. If they were leaking fuel from the spindles then the problem is either with your fuel chamber float, the float valve or your fuel pump putting out too much pressure.

  4. ^this.

  5. 34 PICT 3 is the standard twin port carb, 34PICT 4 is the lower emmision carb for the T25 CT engine.

Throttle spindles are not fuel tight, as above if petrol is leaking then it is dripping from somewhere in the carb onto the throttle butterfly or you are operating the throttle too much when the engine is not running.

  6. Now !what you need is a
    Genuine Solex 34 pict 3
Find one at any cost and then
You send it to Someone like Gower and Lee
They can turn it back into what you really need
All the repro ones are useless
    Empi
Bocar and there's another Sh poo make
    But I can't remember
Don't ken buy any of them .0k
You can have my liver for what it's worth if I'm wrong

  7. Have a genuine 34 picture 3 which needs sorting out phoned Gower and Lee 8 week turn over or a brand new one from machine 7 which is a 6 week turn over and twice the price stuck between a rock and a hard place

At £385 I think it’s a bit steep, but at least you will have a good carb and know any other issues are not the carb.

You could sell your old one or refurbish it yourself and sell it on to recoup some of the outlay!

You can start to see why a progressive carburettor kit looks good value for a new Weber carburettor. However it comes with its own problems that mean it is not quite as simple or as cheap - you need to plumb it in using the existing air cleaner with preheat, not mess with chrome bling.
