ive stripped the carb down again ( second time in so many weeks) this time I had bought a 'refurb' kit and replaced the choke diaphragm and accelerator pump diaphragm , both o rings on the volume and bypass screws , i didn't use the new float valve as it didn't seem to be the same size as the original ...anyway all went well until I tried to restart it - it will not fire - not even a sniff of an attempt to fire. I took the carb top off and the bowl is full of fuel so don't expect it's the valve , I've screwed the volume and bypass screws in all the way and then out again 2.5 turns as a starting point ...what else could I have cocked up???? Edit - pict 34 - 3 carb
Too much fuel..does it squirt fuel when you press the accelerator linkage.. mine was sending through loads first time round and flooding it... Or if not enough..did you blow through all the little tubes the fuel gets pulled though.. ? 2.5 turns on all the adjustment screws was good to get mine up and running.. closed em up a bit on tuning though.. Been out in it tonight and it seems to run really well, ticks over perfect after a minute or two - think the choke needs adjusting ...there was another new problem somewhere though noise from the drivetrain somewhere ...always summat...
