Hi all, probably not many people from South Wales but looking for someone to setup my carbs after my engine and box rebuild over the winter. I should have my bus back next week and she's popping back a bit on the left carb so need it sorting ASAP. Thanks
Get yourself an air flow meter and if its stock dual carbs follow the procedure in the Bentley VW Service manual. If its performance carbs search around the samba, or get hold of a book relevant to Weber or Dellorto carbs. In general if nothing else changed its probably just the throttle linkage being disturbed by bolting it all together in a slightly different position, but after 40-50 years a stock linkage may need parts replaced, or less time for some aftermarket versions.. Basically its make sure the linkage is set up so the throttle plates both sides move together, then use the airflow meter to check that idle airflow is the same both sides as you adjust idle mixture. If its a stock dual its more complex as there is effectively a third idle mixture carburettor on the left hand carb that feeds both sides, but the procedure is in the book.
Look at the date - 2013 . I know the clocks have gone back but not that far .... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
