TWITTER! I get facebook, I luuuurve the new forum but for the life of me I just don't understand twitter. I have laptops and ipads and iphones and desktops and all the usual gadgetry and paraphernalia so I'm not I(t)lliterate. I cn happily pull a PC apart and put it back together so why do I just not get what it's for and why? As well as how. Some of the older fratenity are using it, therefore I must conclude that it has a useful purpose but for the life me I don't understand. Please help, I'm feeling very left out, like the kid who lways gets picked last for football. (The fat kid put in goal as he takes up the most room, Ah! Halcyon Days!)
I always thought that twitter was for people who wanted to 'follow' other people. I did sign up a while back and then decided that I didn't want to follow anyone So I don't do it
Twitter is for the people that you wished you'd gone to school with and Facebook is for the ones that you did
#baysearcherlovestweeting Joking aside I have a twitter ac but have never used it. Don't see the point in knowing what so called celebs have had for breakfast.
Not sure i get it either but MrsMH is often mentioning funny things she's read on there, It is as i understand kind of a news tickertape for things/people you like so if your bored you can see whats been going on in the lives of the rich, the famous, the man in the shop round the corner or anyone you've chosen to follow. That's my take on it anyway, I've got an account but don't look at it that often,
I find it handy for following a number of F1 teams, it is easier than having to go online to each separate site. Especially at the moment while they are testing in Spain. Plus I can be rude to Rickypoo on Twitter........ just joking, I'm not rude to Rick
Twitter is what you want it to be, from the basic "free text message" without giving your number away (example - i tweet to terrordales/marrowak but don't have their phone number) but mainly i use it to follow formula 1 teams or presenters of f1 to find out instant and true news rather than the drivel posted in a newspaper or broadcast on telly, if you need to know a piece of news for example you hear a snippet on the radio in passing like "ravi shankar" if you search it on twitter you instantly find out what the news was - in the case of that example i heard his name mentioned ans found he had died on twitter, it is a really good source for news and an insight into the lives of the famous.
