Hi All, Need a new roof for my 73 bay. The roof is damaged so I trying to source a new one. Does anyone know what type pf roof this is? and where I might source one? Thanks Matt
Is it not repairable with fibre glass? Don't recognise it - maybe a dormobile roof would fit. Which roof cross members have been cut through - front and or middle?
is it the roof or the canvas, lots of places or company's will do you a canvas, ....if it's the roof, I'm sure the great folk on here will be able to advise.
Is this it? If so that is a gemtlux/Canterbury Pitt roof. made either for a danbury or Devon. both used those roof's. O'connors of Okehampton should be able to help you.
Yes I thought a Canterbury Pitt was the closest. It is fixed by bars at the front and rear. There is no canvas at the moment. It was damaged when it was being recovered (dont ask!) and has cracked the fibre in the corners. So If I win I get replaced, If I dont, I will probably repair myself. What would you guys do?
If you have an og canterbury Pitt interior in a late bay then you have something very rare indeed, If you have a C P roof over a Danbury/Devon conversion then you still have something quite desirable. think hard before you bin it for another roof.
Repair in situ if possible - hassle galore doing anything else (Not being an anorak i took a punt at canterbury pitt - do i win ??)
Excuse my ignorance what is a"og canterbury Pitt" Ive just bought this van and haven't had time to look over it as its locked away at a friends. How can I tell whether its an original conversion?
original! Seams like you know what a C- Pitt is from that thread, I would do all I could to restore it to original myself, In fact I would love one.
Devon used 1001 different types of roofs. I had this revolting one on one of mine. It had the same up and down mechanism as yours.
That's a Gentlux roof. probably a version of the early Canterbury pit one that they used on splitty's !
