I took the rail out of the wardrobe and fitted shelves so everything is away If we run out of clean clothes on a long trip we wash them I hate having stuff out we don't have anything on the floor traveling in case we want to stop for a bit brew up I like to make it easy park up roof up seat swivelled kettle on and we are camping
We have the following new waterproof bag this year attached to the Westy roof and it worked great for storing all the clean clothes and a smaller bag inside for putting the dirty clothes. It's easily accessible with pop top up and just tied it back on when we used the van using the poundland ratchet straps I bought The only real trouble I have now is that the Mrs has filled the new headbanger with various old clothes as spares for kids / when it gets colder at night as I didn't have a firm use for the headbanger I've lost it
Camping does not require a change of clothes for it's own sake, you'll be expecting 30 min showers next! Head banger for some extra cold weather stuff, armpit spray to give vague impression of cleanliness.
We have mates who shower at every opportunity while camping, even if we are just about to go surfing! Why bother? If you are having 2 nights camping there is really no need for showering unless you have fallen in poo which is rare.
ooweeeer dont really need to wash the wetsuit spose , good idea do they allow daz in the beach showers
I don't understand all the folk taking clothes in bags/holdalls/cases? Surely take your clothes to the bus in the clothes basket & pack them all neatly in the cupboard at the back/quarter. Weekend away; take what you're stood up in plus a jumper/spare t shirt/extra trousers/underclackers for each day. Take the clothes basket/bag/holdall/case back into the house & chuck it in the cupboard under the stairs until you get back. No wonder you're struggling for space, you're taking additional containers you have no need or use for.
With 5 of us sleeping in the van there isn't room to fart with the bed and bunks out. All our stuff gets thrown in the awning in a big messy pile. We definitely over pack though. Need to do more camping to refine the art. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
You're living the dream. I believe I'm a step ahead though. Knowing I won't use any spare clothes I take, I leave them in a bag in the passenger footwell ready to hook straight back out again.
The roof in my van is dead space the only reason I have a pop top is cos I'm tall, therefore my bag is a winner
We generally purchase new clothing every morning and give our last days clothes to the riff raff in type 5's.
It's the classic secondary storage dilemma. Like sunglasses holders on the back of sunvisers, brilliant idea, but what do you do with the case. Or those push button cassette racks that you found in posh Fords and a glovebox full of rattling, empty cassette cases.
