Came to a Bay's rescue yesterday!

  1. There's a Petrol Station near to where I live - spotted a Bay with engine hatch open! Various jump leads and a battery were adorning the forecourt together with owner, partner, and I think a Dad.

Apparently it would'nt start after it had been filled up and they suspected a short of some sort - a new battery had been fitted the day before and that was also suspect.

I asked the owner to turn it over whilst I had a look see - nothing no sign of life. So I jumped in the Cab and no life to see if anything worked - not. Bad earth me thinks so pops back to the new battery and hey ho earth was a little loose today the least - twiddle it tight and success starts like a good un!

Many hand shakes and thanks given - slightly surprised myself!

So to the owner of a yellow P plater hope you made it back okay and get that oil leak sorted pronto ;0)

  3. Well done mate this is what aircooled motoring is all about helping each other!

I used to do that all the time when there were more beetles on the road still as daily drivers. Its also very good to be on the receiving end of help. Nothing worse than a rush hour breakdown on a rainy Friday!

These if you stop to help people they think you are a mass murderer!!

  5. I was stuck on the hard shoulder on the way to Camperjam - paradox pulled over to see if there was anything he could do to help but the RAC were there and we had already decided to sack off camperjam and head home as we were setting off for a trip round europe on the Monday. Some chaps in a splitty also pulled over. The weather was absolutely rank and the offers of help were much appreciated given it was much easier for everybody to just keep dry and in their buses.
