Depends on how many gears you have. Last time I changed cassette I also changed chain as well, and it cost me less than 20 quid.
My car still has a cassette player. I have no choice - the stereo and the climate control are one integrated unit.
Yep, use a pipe cutter....simple job. I always change my chain every 500 miles, and the cassette and chainrings last as long as you want then. Just for the record, chains don't stretch. The little rollers wear, which makes them appear to stretch, as the gaps between the links get a bit bigger. I do between 500-1000 miles a month, so I do this regularly!
I always use a hacksaw with a cutting guide to ensure a straight cut. https://www.evanscycles.com/topeak-threadless-saw-guide-tool-EV185478 Note that if you are cutting carbon you'll need a finer tooth hacksaw blade (and a mask)
I made the mistake of moving the front deralier bolt just to tweak it..........7 hours of moving this ONE bolt around, several views on you tube videos and a thousand times of nearLy throwing the bike out the window........I gave up? I can tackle DIY mechanics on classic cars but I don't understand how this was so difficult Bike shop had it sorted in 5 mins
Yep the ultimate battle going Shimano-a-Shimano I watched three contradictory YouTube videos and managed to fit a new rear cassette so it only missed one gear. My OCD means that is thoroughly unacceptable. I did succumb to finding that my bicycle flies through the air with the greatest of ease …
