buzzer

  1. Every now and again there is a buzzer that goes off when the door is open and the keys are in the ignition. Buzzing is coming from the fuse box. Is this supposed to happen to let me know i've left my keys in the ignition or is there something wrong?

  4. Hi,
I beleive 1970 and later buses were fitted with a warning buzzer thats goes off when ....as you said = the key is left in the ignition and you open the drivers door.
I want one ...if you take it off can you send me pics of the item and part numbers..please......buzzer is said to be locatedbeside the headlight dimmer relay and is connected to terminal 30 of the fuse box and via the lefthand door contact switch , to the warning system contact in the ignition lock.
    ;)

  7. hi again,
sorry didn't see other replies , if anyone can tell me the part number or send me pics that would be great, I've seen buzzer relays for sale but have not been sure if they were right for me, any help greatly appreciated.
    cheers

  8. Cheers for the replies folks, Indicators were going 4 times faster than they should have been. No sign of a light out changed the relay and then and a look at the electrics as the hazards weren't working either. Pulled apart dash put back together, putting the interior light to come on when the door was open in the process and the buzzing began.

I'll have to check Major and see if he has a warning buzzer!

  10. May be wrong, but I think the buzzer is plugged into the fuse box and resembles a relay. Can get buzzers from Maplins - they're astonishingly annoying.

As above, to use it as a "keys left in" warning, you'll need the ignition switch with the "key in" contact. I don't think these were standard - my 78 hasn't got one.

Buzzer obsessives can mod it to use as a "headlights still on" warning, which is prob more useful (although still annoying.

I find buzzers annoying. The Ragtops just annoys the hell out of me.

They were fitted to the majority of Stateside buses.
