Busy Winter in the Garage!

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by moortarn, Nov 30, 2014.

  1. Just bought all the spares I need for planned work on the Bus over winter and saved a fortune in JKs 15% sale!, anybody else do the same and in for a busy Winter in the garage?

Every spring a bus or two like yours enquires about the fitting of a box of parts such as you mention. Good intentions followed by realisation that winter is cold, dark and damp. Then it progressively gets colder, darker and damper and never seems to warm up enough to get out there. Fair enough I say, I was one of those people once. lol

I do most of my stuff over the winter luckily inside in a heated building

Every job should have a silver lining, I admire the way you always find a free warm home for Bolly to over-winter and then get paid to work on her. You're not as daft as you look.

lol the bosses at my place encourage me to go on the net or watch television if it's quiet i think they feel guilty I'm on my own, one of the directors came down to see me the other day and had a tour of the bus he said he'd toyed with buying a splitty for a bit of fun but it was 65k.....

I wonder how much it would cost to keep your van in a heated garage over winter. Not a bad perk! Then being able to work on it while being paid - that's like saving garage fees really? You must be the only person on the forum paid to fix their own bus - I'd be building a silly engine.

god knows but it's even on the company's insurance lol, I turned the heating down the other day as it was 19 degrees in there and i was too hot, it's a more comfy 17 at the moment
