I was looking at going as a family, possibly for the last time as the kids are grown ups now really and we dont have the constraints of "school" £37 each in advance and £20 camping. is £168. Think I will possibly restrict myself to a day out for a look around. I used to go every year and have some fond memories. Indeed some of the kids earliest memories are from Vanfest of old. I dont know whether that price is deemed reasonable or not but I dont think its worth it yet I have given it a miss in the pst and felt a bit sad about that.
a lot of these events are becoming "mini festivals" some of us just want to hang out with vw types not have a fun fair and full scale racetrack on site......... little shows are better.
I've not been for a while. Has it improved massively? For that sort of money I'd be expecting the evenings entertainment to be headlined by a re-formed Abba. Support bands to include amongst others; Elton John, Robbie Williams and Led Zeppelin. A proper cooked breakfast brought to my van at 08:30 with a copy of the Telegraph. To be invited to sit at the Captains table with Simon Holloway, as much champagne/beer/absinthe as I could drink. Free Wi-Fi with a good, reliable connection, centrally heated showers, jacuzzi, toilets with bidets and silk sheets to wipe my arse on and a complimentary blowie if anything was not ready at my beckon call and I was ever obliged to have to queue up. Let me know how you get on.
