bus transport needed!

anybody know of anyone who can transport my broken bus from cumbria to bristol?
most of the people ive spoken to want horrendous amounts of money
any input would be greatly appreciated

 

Work on £1-1.50 a mile to five you an idea, I assume you getting £4/500 quotes?

 

Is there much thats needed doing to your bus dude?

I only ask as im in a location on the way down from cumbria and i could sort what needs doing on your bus before it gets sent on its way to bristol
Mot new things fitted etc etc

I dont as yet have the ability to transport a bus but i do know paul weeding does and hes just above cumbria

If it suited you im sure Paul Weeding for a fee would move your bus to me then i could do the work so it was road legal
Then you could catch a train to northallerton station and i could collect you feed you a decent meal and you could drive it home

If thats not for you let me know and ill search out a transporter for you

thanks for the offer paradox, but it just needs a small amount of electrical work and the new engine fitting. the engine is here with me in bristol though unfortunately, and as i have no other mode of transport currently, i have no way of getting it up onto the top of the big hill where he currently sits sad and broken i work at a aircooled specialist so doing the work isnt a problem, its just getting it to the workshop thats proving to be the issue!!
although i did just get a quote through a friend of 225, and considering it must be in the region of 400 miles, i think im going to take it!!

225 is a good price make sure you take loads of pictures when it comes home and a big welcome to the late bay family

 

How desperate are you to shift it? (In terms of time)
Given that you work at a VW garage, I reckon I could do it on 7th April for the cost of the diesel plus a service on my Bus. (I'll supply the parts)
Sadly I'm away pretty much until the end of the month now so April is really the earliest.
Just a thought, no worries if you're already sorted.

i think im going to have to take you up on that man!! will speak to my boss tomorrow about doing you a service at work, but i highly doubt it would be a problem, it may have to be a saturday though, if thats cool with you? (the service that is)
and even if i cant do it at work, i can still do it for you outside of work time
and the 7th would be amazing! as i really want to be at tekenders, and i thought i wouldnt be able to go because the bus was stuck up north, and il get paid just before then so i would be good for the diesel costs.

I got some roof rack slats made for Ermintrude that you could take to Tekenders for me.
We can use my car or van as both will do 40mpg on the way up but sadly significantly less on the way back.
Depends on whether you've got other stuff to pick up or not.
