Bumble - The story

With the weather turned on the approach to winter and the lack of dry space I decided not to continue painting. Now the weather seems to have mellowed out a bit and seeing as I'm painting my brothers beetle I might as well start on the bus too. Wont be long before the season is upon us.

Been a while since i have posted i here so here is a little something I did today:

Bought a bit of rusty old metal off BigRich at the volkszone show, and turned it from this:





To this:





Cut out the rot:



and welded a new bit in:





then painted it up:





Lovely new belly pan, cheers mate.

 

good stuff - wish I had the patience and wherewithall and space to do that.

 

Nice to have parents with the space to do it.

 

Still no paint I'm afraid, no money=no work.

I was hoping to get some colour on there before big bang but I don't think it'll happen now, lack of funds and my brothers beetle still in the garage has put paid to that.

With any luck it'll be done by bug jam though.

 

I would love to do panel work, custom building but have no qualifications to back up what I can do.

It's ok working on your own bus as if you mess up it doesn't matter as much, when it comes to other peoples you gotta get it right first time.

Need someone to give me a lucky break

 

I had to google that, I get it now. ha ha ha.........

 

Finally pulled my finger out and sorted my wiper park problem, stripped the dash out and sorted it with the motor in situ which was handy.



Pinched my brothers hub caps and have them a polish up, tin foil and bit of water works a treat.



Boxed up the speakers in the rock and roll bed to give them a but more umph, sounds much better.

Decisions, do I paint everything or just the bits your going to see?

 

I was just thinking about the costs and severe lack of funds. Lol

I'd like to paint everything but I think I'll have to just paint the bits you'll see and any rust patches I've cleaned up.
