Brexit outcomes so far.

  1. The immigration promise down to 10s of thousands and the promise of a referendum were blatant vote buying and I am glad that Cameron got found out for that and sunk. The next PM might be in the same boat of failing to deliver on promises as well. Where's the Opposition?

I think we agree on a lot of things, I've been quite surprised at your head in hands reaction to Brexit both before and after tbh, thought you were made of sterner stuff. I think you wavered and went with head rather than heart, but this IMO was impossible to do with all sides lying like the politicians they are. So, tell me, did your heart say out?

  8. dont get too cocky or I'll revert to my old ways.

  9. No. It didnt. I was more clinical than you give me credit for. I had my reasons why i would have voted out which on further investigation didnt hold water. My arguments for staying in far outweighed any notion of leaving. Also didnt like being on the side of those i actually despise most.

WE the electorate are the opposition. WE the electorate allow the parliamentary parties to choose our REPRESENTATIVES.
These people, on both sides of politics have, like the EU, slowly but surely ceased to represent us but rather seek to influence us. This must stop. Even now they're all at it, putting their careers first, intimating that the electorate got it wrong, would change their minds. We should listen to our betters is what they are saying. This is insulting to us all whichever side of the arguements you favour between left/right, brexit/remain.

  12. I was abducted by aliens last night, (the remainians said it would happen) I woke up this morning with a strange feeling of wanting to sing and my bottom is sore!

Clinical? How so when fed a load of bull to ponder over? While you have made the correct decision based on information available to you, information is virtually infinite, you cannot have digested all of it and you like everyone else will have been attracted to aspects that make sense to you.
I'm still convinced, despite claims to the effect of little Englander, that remain had and have a more insular, fearful and closed view of the world that brexit. I doubt that makes sense to you, but I bet it does to the Brexit side. :)

  14. There are certainly benefits to Brexit (or disadvantages to the EU), same as there are benefits to Remain. The big problem for me was economic disruption (done now, loss taken, move on) and the idea of siding with the people on the Leave campaign. The Tory Right / Farage will never get my vote on principal. If the campaign had been to stay in the EEA with free movement and a single market, I would have probably voted OUT. However, I suspect an EEA solution would have resulted in an IN vote as it would not have addressed the immigration issue, so I'd have still been on the losing side.

Perhaps it comes down to this.

Those that are sufficiently satisfied with how their material lives are going, even if a bit of a struggle, fear change in case it might be worse.

Those sitting pretty who can take a hit and those who feel they have nothing to loose do not fear change.

From my perspective the remain arguments always seemed rather whimpy. Beaten and accepting rather than bold and brave. We British are supposed to be intollerably arrogant, time we got back on track. :D

  16. Got to now! The BBC clip about Thailand and doing business in a chaotic environment was good - more chaos = more opportunities. Nobody really sold that idea to me at the time, it was all fewer immigrants and the alleged £350 million a week for the NHS.

And the arguements that we are not fit to govern ourselves, that some unelected EU political thing is best left to to that are blindingly traitorous. How the heck did it happen? Off to the tower with Cameron to have his head lopped off would have been a fair reaction!

  18. You mean as opposed to a comfortable retirement with a best selling book, a few choice directorships and £100k a pop speaking gigs?

Well I have one have bleated continuously that all that stuff is red herring to confuse and steer voters whichever way and that those aspects were wide of the point in question, that we'd have our hands untied, no excuses, politicians we can justly blame...
