Brake warning light switch

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by physiopro, Nov 24, 2013.

  1. I am replacing my brake light switch as I have constant power to it but when I press the brake pedal there is no live exiting to the brake lights at the back! I have ordered one from custom and commercial, arrived and has three spade connectors not two! Is that still ok, if so which to connectors do I connect the wires to? Also does it matter which way around the go please?
    Thanks :)

  2. hi andy

this may or may not help,:gnome:

its very possible there will be a:

    common. connection... [live in]
    n/c. connection [normally closed]
n/o . [normally open ] connection ... out to lamps

you should connect to the common and n/o , then the switch will make contact when operated,
