Hi, i'm trying to establish if the 3 pin ATE switches on Autodoc are suitable for my 1971 LHD WITH brake booster, it's their 'article'. pt no 24.3526-1900.0 ATE 340038 VW 113-945-515G My reason for doubt is because it says' to be used on vehicles WITHOUT brake booster' ?, this seems odd to me as booster or not is never usually mentioned on other sites/ listings etc. I've tried contacting Autodoc with no joy as yet, wondered if anyone else has come across this?. I recently fitted a pair of ERA switches and i think one has failed already, 0 miles. The brake lights work but the recently acquired and fitted dash warning light does not light up with 'ign on' whilst bleeding brakes, so after reading numerous reports of dire quality switches, i thought i'd try ATE ones.
ATE is just a generic switch used by several manufacturers, it won’t know if there is a servo or not. The Meyle switch has a better rating and is probably as good/bad. https://www.autodoc.co.uk/meyle/8760284
You can get a febi bilstein one from Opie oils for similar money and they offer 10% off your first order. I ordered a couple but not got around to fitting yet https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-192389-brake-light-switch-febi-bilstein-46024.aspx?VariantID=294518 Edit: cheaper on Amazon as well https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B014TBN0NY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_346GG2XDRKGEVZQDJAV6 Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
I'm going to fit a mechanical motorcycle type brake light switch when it/they fail again - replaced a dozen or so over the years... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
