Brake calliper recommendation?

Mot fail on both front callipers (binding /sticky)

Suppose I shouldn’t really complain as they are over 40 yrs old...

Any recommendations? Are the bog standard one’s heritage sell Ok?

Ahhhh....It redirects me to the Irish site that doesn’t have calipers.

 

If you can wait, I recommend sending your originals off to Bigg Red in Cambridge. They come back like new for about £160 for the pair. You can even choose the colour of the powder coat.

Or get a repair kit of Bigg Red and fix yours.. it's quite easy

 

Yes very easy. Did mine for about £50 all in. Didn’t get them powder coated or anything.

I'd second refurbing your own - you'll need access to an air line to pop the pistons out, but I'm sure a garage would oblige for a small donation as it only takes a couple of minutes.

 

I always get mine from Brakes International ... google for the website.

 

Using an air line is dangerous. If they are stuck a grease gun exerts about 1500psi and won’t go bang when it gives

 

I repaired mine with a kit from Budweg. Very cheap and easy to do. Possibly a better option than new reproduction callipers.

 

I wasnt advocating aiming it at anyone! I always hold it back with a G-Clamp or block of wood so it just pops but doesnt act like a projectile.
