brake calliper piston sticking

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by grub, Jun 7, 2013.

  1. Just had a quick look at the brakes as think they could be better (72 late bay with servo discs up front)..
The inner piston on the one side was stuck - released it by prying the pad away from the disc so not siezed solid.
Can you overhaul the pistons by taking them out and cleaning them up and do I need a new overhaul kit for new seals, etc?

    Any tips/suggestions gratefully received.

  2. Well if I were doing same on mine ,I" d strip it inspect it and if ok rebuild with new seal kit, down to what you find/want to spend , Grub but if it was as you said ,partially seized ,can" t imagine new seals at least aren"t required.
