I always remember the story I was told by a security guy working at the Ford Transit plant in Eastleigh. One day a guy leaving at the end of a shift wearing a heavy long coat collapsed at the gate and was having difficulty breathing. So they loosened his coat to prepare for CPR and found a cable looped for a complete turn round his neck. On each end of the cable, there was an alternator tied on. The security guy said the alternator thief would have got away with it if he had understood physics and physiology..
