  1. Mine has fallen to bits,is there an easy to find replacement? I've found the part no as 1230 107 011- but can't find anyone that stocks this. Any suitable replacements out there?

  2. eBay, if it's only a fibre washer? Nothing special, I wouldn't think.

Good luck getting the roll pin out of the drive dog ;)

  3. Thanks, I have a 20 ton press if it doesn't fancy drifting out. Digging through my plumbing supplies to see if there is something similar in there that would work.

Assume not safe to run without some sort of shim in place?

  4. The pins can be right beggars to get out. The dissy shaft may dance up and down without the washer. Don't think they're anything special.

The fibre shim could be replaced with a stack of steel shims. As usual, you just need more than one you should have a steel shim and the fibre washer at least, theres only the pressure of the spring between the drive gear and the bottom of the distributor drive shaft resting on it.

Anything that can withstand oil at say 150C will do.. PTFE ..

  6. If your oils's at 150*, you've got bigger problems than a washer ;)

I know, but unlike OceanGate, I think there should be at least a 10-20% margin of safety.

  8. So, pin is out and the drive is off. I have 2 x washers there already (the fibre type one should be sandwiched between I believe) - only washers I can get my hands on that will fit both I/D and O/D are either copper or aluminium sump washers.... seems like a dangerous idea to me? I have a plumbing type fibre washer that would also fit - but again, I'm concerned it may fall to pieces as they are designed to be compressed- not used for rotational movement.

Fit one of the above... or leave out and forget about it altogether? I have 2 x washers that can do their turny things to prevent wear already, as I see it it potentially just increases a bit of up and down movement on the rotor which "shouldn't " be an issue?

    Thats a pity :(

  11. appreciate any help though, thank you.

I'm going to toss a coin in a minute - put back in with nothing, or a plumbing fibre washer!

  12. What are the dimensions of the washer? ID, OD, thickness?

  14. 20mm OD
    12mm ID
    0.7mm thick

  15. Bum. Rummaged in my fibre washers, nothing the right size :(

  16. Appreciate you taking a look! I'm going to use an aluminium sump plug washer which I have sanded down to .7mm - there's a tiny bit of play which fingers crossed won't tighten noticeably at running temp.

After that I'll be applying band aids to what's left of my finger tips...
