Purchased Wed 20th June ... we called him Bodhi after The Bodhisattva (Patrick Swayze's character in Point Break) Been garaged for 18 months so lots of teething issues but basically a sound bus ... Off to John at 81a in Birkdale (Southport) for the once over ... then once he's passed the MOT we can start to personalise him a bit. Funds permitting! lol
Nice bus .. Nice name ... I like it even more that its a westie with no tartan in sight .. (sorry purists) i just cant stand the tartan : 8)
I have already sent John your regards girls! He knew something was afoot as soon as I called him Batman! Not a big fan of the tartan I'm afraid - I have big plans for Bodhi and they don't involve "classic" looks - more an individual FUN look.
Took the spare wheel off the front and added a nice new chrome badge - And this morning I ran the "alley of death" to John at 81a who is giving him the full once over - By the end of the week my wallet will be considerably lighter but "Bodhi" will be fully operational! Oh and I bought a stereo & some speakers that need fitting too!
Just popped in the see John and Bodhi - Wow! - coming along great. I was asking John about Camper Jam etc and he said he doesn't go to any of these things any more. A real shame as its his passion and he obviously enjoys it. He says because he knows so many people he always gets grabbed by people wanting stuff tinkering with and if he says no he gets bad press on the forums. I think that's a real shame. We should all encourage him to go and promise we won't mither him unless its for a sociable beer & general tomfoolery! Sound like a plan?
Yep it sure does, you do the persuading & I'll ask him to have a look at the westy bodywork, get a rough idea of how much for some tlc
Update on Bodhi ... the latest pics all booked up for Blackpool Breeze and I fancy Glastonbury next year too if there is a gang going.
Decals are not my taste but what a super looking bus , can`t beat a RHD westy .. shame shes not a tax emempt one but a cracking van
