Evening all, as some of you know previous posts, Betty's PO saw fit to use a leisure battery on the engine. I want to change this for a dedicated starting battery and use the leisure battery as an extra in my leisure system for wild camping. So I called into the local Halfords simply because I was passing and they're computer pulled up a battery of 570 cranking amps! And they wanted the best part of £100 for it! So after regaining my composure I left and that's where you lovely lot come in, what does Betty need? (anyone who says anew owner will get a swift poke in the eye)
depends how much you want to spend, people will reccomend a bosch s5 but i bought a varta - the biggest you can fit is an 096 - look on evil bay for ideas i paid £54 delivered.
Sounds ideal Ricky, I'm going to try the local independent spares place tomorrow so wanted to know the cranking amps required by a 1700 FI type 4.
