Ok, so i have just come back from my local chrome platers with my old set of wheel hubs. He tells me its a massive job to rechrome them and wants £35 a hub. Oooch! He pretty much said it will be better to purchase some new ones. So my question now is out of the typical parts supliers which supply the best quality hubs?
Hubs or Hub caps? Jo, we did too!! C & C was not interested in the fact they rusted too quickly, VW Heritage was not interested in the fact the fit was poor but did swap ones that fell off quick enough. We replaced them with Stainless ones that was an equally poor fit..I popped alloys on instead
I got mine from Alan Schofields, they have been on a year now and have no signs of pitting or problems, you really have to make sure they are pushed on properly so they dont come off accidentally.
ha haa pushed on properly, most of the sets we had showed signs of the lip on the inside incorrectly formed and would not seat correctly on the lugs on the wheels, ruddy cheap s***e things! I think its fair to say, genuine ones will fit best
Have a chat with Bigrich @ Coolair, he will know which ones are the best quality and best fit plus we get 10% discount to boost!
There's a group buy going on here... http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/stainless-steel-hub-caps-group-buy.17757/
Mine come from Karmon Konnection give them a good clean with autosol beginning of season then occasional buff then take them off for winter, and replace with some painted ones for winter, Steve,
