Best brake discs to get

  1. Hi there, just checking in with you guys before buying. Any recommendations on the best quality front brake discs to buy.

    1973 Westfalia.

Or if they are still within tolerance, can the originals be machined to create a fresh surface ok. Or not worth the hassle?

Heritage have 15% discount on orders over £100 at the mo.

    cheers

  2. Not really worth the hassle re-machining.

I got some Brembos from GSF.

  3. Ditto.

Gsf always have a ridiculous offer on. 'Scary60' 60% off at the mo :)

  4. I haven’t got the camper with me to check. Are the standard discs 278mm in diameter?

there are two options on gsf, only difference is ‘height’. 86mm and 82mm.

might go with Zimmermann brand if 60% off.

    thanks

I went into GSF on a Saturday and asked for a Type 4 oil filter. They wanted about £16 for it - ridiculous. So I walked outside and looked at their click and collect price - £12: still not great. Then I did an eBay search and found them for about £5.50. And who was the eBay Vendor? GSF.
    I ordered half a dozen.

  14. I have noticed for some reason gsf on eBay is a lot cheaper than going to gsf itself ? Go figure

  15. GSF's pricing is a complete mess.

  16. I just compare to eurocarparts and go cheapest for same item

  17. Never just go into GSF or Eurocarparts, always check on line and apply the discount code. I got a pair of front discs and pads for my Mini for £43 a couple of months ago:thumbsup:

  18. A while back I bought some Mann fuel filters, even with delivery I dont think I could have bought the large Jiffy bag they came in they were so cheap :)

  19. Just received! Look good! Fit them in a couple of weeks!
