So I've already been able to source a front roof cut which is in ok shape, gutters intact just require straightening in a couple of places. a couple of dinks which require seeing to. But underneath is mint both door frames are there and solid. The cut is also bang on to the existing cut out for the pop top.
Put Schofield's on speed dial! That's what I've done. Have fun and document the gutter repairs so I can steal all your ideas!
Started sorting my shed out, I managed to pick up a 6ft emir workbench with a steel top for £20. Sourced some free angle iron to brace Beryl ready for roof removal. Need to sort the bottom end of the shed out over the next few evenings. That area will be clear as there is a log burner behind the table saw which is going to be needed for the long winter evenings fabricating I have ahead of me! After Friday I’ll be getting ready for Glastonbury so nothing will be happening for a week or so. I will be filming a walk round of Beryl that will be posted on my Beryl restoration channel on YouTube. I’m relying on my 15 year old to edit and run the channel as I haven’t got a clue.
Good luck with the rebuild- expensive panels are generally only made by one supplier in my experience so shop around.... for everything else, Scholfields are a known quality.
Well guys life too a dramatic turn last week long story short instead of having it large at Glastonbury I’ve just got home from 4 nights in hospital! I’m now recovering from have my appendix removed! The restoration may taken even longer any recommendations for decent restoration reading material.

Hi guys, just done a bit of a walk round of Beryl. Still a bit limited in movement so couldn’t get underneath. I’ve posted it on our you tube channel. Please take a look it may make you feel better about your own projects https://youtube.com/channel/UCYPME4CSUgyDhatZNM1Nxmw
Got bored this afternoon thought I’d dust off my fabrication skills, still a lot to dust off! Practice makes perfect. Although once I get my vice and bench grinder back it’ll be a lot easier.
All welded and filed back. Really pleased how this has turned out I’ve decided to have a go a filling with lead so will be ordering a kit at some point.
So bought myself a cheap rotary tool off amazon, it cost £30 and came with 120 bits most off which are garbage (no surprise there). However this morning I decided to attack the pitted metal on my front roof cut and the results are excellent. The bit used stood up to it and it removed the pitted rust very easily. I was in 2 minds whether to cut out and replace but I’m pretty confident I can paint and fill with out any worries. In total it took about 30 mins to remover all the pits on the front edge. I’ll post a video on my YouTube channel for any one interested.
More roof cut prep work, most of the paint is removed now and I’ve started on the rotten gutter. I’m hoping to be in a position to cut the old section off at the week end and graft this section on.
Fink I'd have just hit it with one of these. I did this in a few hours with one. That's about 9 sq m.
Random picture from the internet. I just buy any old one's off ebay TBH, but I always go for the black ones... simply because the first one I tried was black and it worked. lol I have no idea if different coloured ones are somehow different grades or simply different colours.
