Hi I realised last week I'm missing the small part of the table with the fixings. If you have the large bit available I may be able to work with that but pref the correct small piece. Anyone help?
I saw them at Busfest. Whilst the stuff is an amazing reproduction it does have a bit more of a grain to it and the black edging is much softer. Whereas if I source an orig side piece it should match my existing large piece perfectly.
not necessarily - an og part may have faded differntly to your table top, especially if its been folded away most of the time: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1682739
Yes that is true I do agree with that but hopefully I have more chance matching an OG than the new stuff which is crazy money from Westfalia Spares and slightly grainy from Nla
Perhaps not but it will complete the interior. And I do keep wanting the table to be longer when sat in the captain chair
Probably not much help - but I've a complete Berlin table I'm looking to sell! http://thelatebay.com/index.php?threads/westfalia-berlin-table.42559/page-2#post-749192
Scary that you put it finished side up on the rough tarmac But thanks for posting at least I can see all the brackets that are missing too . If you are willing to part it out let me know
Hi, sorry for being slow on the uptake. When you say "a bit more grain to it" are you referring to the actual texture of the veneer surface? We have done our best to replicate this from an original piece of veneer from the rear of an original panel so hopefully it is as close as you will get. I am interested in what difference you have noted as we constantly stride to improve our products to give you the very best items we can. Also you say the edge trim is softer, this was by request as people were looking to do tighter radii than the original Westfalias ever had. It's one of those situations where we chase out own tales trying to please all the people all of the time
Hi @NLAVWParts Yes I mean the texture on the veneer is more present than original. The qctual.pattern on the veneer is in my opinion 100% spot on. As is the colour. The grain is VERY MINOR but it is present. Your veneer is an amazing reproduction and in all honesty I am tempted on doing the whole lot (you and I spoke shortly after Busfest regarding this). Yes the edge is softer but as you say sometimes you just have to please the masses. No biggie. I am tempted to get the small leaf table from you too but once I have factored in all the missing hinges and brackets etc it does mount up. Just being honest. Ever thought about doing it as a kit?
If you want to order all the parts we do together we can possibly sort out a discount for you. We are reasonable people so if we can save you a bit we will do what we can, just ask when you call ;-)
